The Beginnings of a Postcard

today has been one very VERY lazy day. the one thing that i actually did do was try making some crocheted flowers. i have been following Connies/konnykards experimentation with them and every time i see them i itch to try it. well, today, i finally did~!~ you are looking at my first three attempts. i don't think they are too bad but i am certainly going to have to practice for mine to look anything like Connies~!~hers are really much nicer than mine are.
the other thing that i did was decide to create a fabric postcard for my very first giveaway. you are looking at it's humble beginnings which consist (so far) of some fabric bits (that i hand dyed myself), a skeleton leaf and my tiny crocheted flowers . . . of coarse there will be more stitching and embellishing added before i call it "finished".
this giveaway will be in celebration of my 100th post and until i've made it that far you will be seeing progress reports here in my blog as it comes along. i will include some other small surprises in with the card and will leave the card blank on the reverse side so that the recipient can make their own decision as to whether to send it out to someone or just keep it for themselves.

  1. That's a really pretty beginning, I think the colors may have been inspired by your previous post! :)

You are so prolific, nearly 100 blog posts already! :)

  2. thank you LSR and Pink Sky~!~ i noticed that the colors seemed similar too but it wasn't a conscious decision . . . just one of those things. i actually created the "blank", which is what i call the card before any embellishing is done to it, months ago and the thread that i picked up to crochet the flowers with was just "handy". i do think that the colors are going to work nicely and am interested in seeing just where this card "goes"~!~ you see, it's such an "organic" type of creativity that one addition leads to the next but i don't really plan any of it too much . . . so sometimes the cards are very interesting to watch "evolve"~!~
